THE FIELD NOTE WARDROBE
Curriculum, Brand & Digital System
A thoughtfully structured brand and curriculum system designed to support families, educators, and nature groups in building consistent, meaningful rhythms of outdoor learning.
Project Overview
The Field Note Wardrobe began as a response to a common challenge in homeschooling and nature-based education: an abundance of inspiration, but very little structure that feels realistic to sustain.
The goal was to create a brand and curriculum ecosystem that feels grounded, invitational, and practical—one that supports long-term use rather than short bursts of enthusiasm. The system needed to serve multiple audiences (parents, children, group leaders) while remaining flexible enough to grow over time.
Rather than positioning the project as a single product, the work focused on building a cohesive framework—visually, structurally, and pedagogically.
Design Approach
The Field Note Wardrobe was built around the idea that good systems create freedom.
Visually, the brand draws from natural textures, restrained color palettes, and timeless typography—avoiding trends in favor of materials and forms that feel at home in both digital and physical spaces.
Structurally, the curriculum was designed to support:
families working at different paces
leaders facilitating groups or co-ops
children developing observation skills over time
Every element—from lesson flow to downloadable resources—was designed to feel calm, accessible, and repeatable, rather than overwhelming or prescriptive.
The Work
Brand positioning and visual identity system
Naming and conceptual development
Curriculum structure and scope planning
Website design and content architecture
Digital resource and printable system design
Outcome
The result is a cohesive, flexible system that supports real-world use across seasons, ages, and learning environments.
The Field Note Wardrobe now functions as:
a recognizable brand with a clear voice and purpose
a scalable curriculum framework that can expand over time
a digital home that feels organized, inviting, and easy to navigate
Most importantly, the system supports families and leaders in building consistent habits—rather than chasing novelty—allowing nature study to become a sustainable part of daily life.
A project rooted in clarity, structure, and long-term stewardship.
